What You’ll Do

  • Manage the State Veterinary area according to relevant legislation and policies.
  • Prevent the introduction and spread of controlled and non-controlled diseases.
  • Provide primary animal health care to designated groups of animal owners.
  • Facilitate and control the export of animals and animal products, ensuring compliance with national and international requirements.
  • Implement remedial actions if export requirements are not met.
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on veterinary services to communities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of veterinary activities and export data.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc/BVMCh) or equivalent qualification recognized by the South African Veterinary Council.
  • Compulsory registration as a Veterinarian with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
  • A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
  • A valid (Code B or higher) driving license.
  • Knowledge of the Animal Disease Act and other relevant veterinary legislation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, even under stressful conditions.
