What You’ll Do
- Provide social work services focused on the care and development of vulnerable individuals and communities.
- Engage in casework, group work, and community initiatives.
- Supervise and support the continuous professional development of social auxiliary workers.
- Stay updated with advancements in social work and social welfare fields.
- Manage all necessary administrative functions related to the role.
- Address social instability issues and work towards effective solutions.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work (Bachelor of Social Work) that allows registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- Registration as a social worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- A valid Code B driving license.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in social work after registration.
- For Grade 3: At least 20 years’ experience post-registration.
- For Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years’ experience in social work after registration.
- Strong knowledge of social work theory, legislation, and practices.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior social workers.
