What You’ll Do

• Provide social work services to in-patients and their families, addressing their psychosocial needs.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and offer counselling to individuals and families.
• Develop future care plans for patients and maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated patient care.
• Undertake telephonic follow-ups with patients to monitor their progress.
• Share specialist knowledge in neonatology to enhance service delivery.
• Participate in training and professional development activities as required.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification as a Social Worker that allows for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
• Registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker.
• For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
• For Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
• For Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
• Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of statutory processes related to the Child Care Act and clinical social work practice.
