What You’ll Do
- Provide social work services to in-patients and their families, addressing their psychosocial needs.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and offer counselling to individuals and families.
- Develop future care plans for patients and maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated patient care.
- Undertake telephonic follow-ups with patients to monitor their progress.
- Share specialist knowledge in neonatology to enhance service delivery.
- Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification as a Social Worker that allows for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
- Registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
- For Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of statutory processes related to the Child Care Act and clinical social work practice.
