What You’ll Do

• Supervise and support social workers in delivering effective interventions for individuals and communities.
• Conduct assessments to identify conditions impacting clients and recommend necessary interventions.
• Develop and plan social work programmes to address identified needs efficiently.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and policies relevant to social work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of social work interventions and outcomes.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration with stakeholders and other role players.
• Perform statutory functions, including compiling court reports and attending court inquiries.

What You’ll Need

• A 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work (Degree/Diploma).
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in social work post-registration.
• Strong knowledge of social work theory, legislation, and evaluation methods.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape Government.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and mentor staff effectively.
