What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support social workers in delivering effective interventions for individuals and communities.
- Conduct assessments to identify conditions impacting clients and recommend necessary interventions.
- Develop and plan social work programmes to address identified needs efficiently.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and policies relevant to social work practices.
- Maintain accurate records of social work interventions and outcomes.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with stakeholders and other role players.
- Perform statutory functions, including compiling court reports and attending court inquiries.
What You’ll Need
- A 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work (Degree/Diploma).
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in social work post-registration.
- Strong knowledge of social work theory, legislation, and evaluation methods.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape Government.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and mentor staff effectively.
