The Department of Social Development is looking to fill the position of Social Work Supervisor Grade 1: Victim Empowerment, based in the Waterberg District. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and manage victim empowerment programs to support individuals affected by crime.
- Ensure social welfare professional compliance and quality control across services.
- Oversee human trafficking programs, providing essential support and resources.
- Supervise and mentor social workers and social auxiliary workers, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
- Conduct training and capacity-building initiatives to foster professional development and improve service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor of Social Work recognized by SAQA.
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in social work post-registration.
- A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (except for individuals with disabilities).
- Proficiency in computer programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as SORMA, DVA, TIP ACT, and the National Strategy on GBV.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
- Understanding of supervision models and social work service delivery frameworks.
