What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Chief Directorate for Curriculum Implementation and Monitoring.
  • Enhance teacher capacity and improve teaching practices across the education spectrum.
  • Collaborate with state institutions and NGOs to drive educational improvements.
  • Develop and implement Norms and Standards in line with the National Education Policy Act.
  • Strengthen school-based assessments to enhance the quality of teaching.
  • Promote the use of data to inform teaching quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of policies for effective curriculum implementation.
  • Improve access to Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs and inclusive education.
  • Monitor learner enrollment rates and promote grade progression from Grade 1 to 9.
  • Oversee the implementation of the IIAL and GET Strategy to ensure learner eligibility for higher education.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior managerial role with high-level planning and management responsibilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of the South African education policy framework, curriculum development, and support mechanisms.
  • Strong competencies in knowledge management, service delivery innovation, and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional strategic capability, leadership, and project management skills.
