What You’ll Do
- Coordinate, monitor, and support teacher development initiatives in line with departmental priorities.
- Conduct impact assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of teacher development programs.
- Develop frameworks and strategies aimed at improving school and educator performance.
- Drive the creation and curation of digital resources to support teaching and learning.
- Promote the use of ICT platforms for professional development among educators.
- Monitor and evaluate ongoing teacher development initiatives to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
- Provide strategic leadership and manage financial resources in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act.
- Compile analytical reports to guide sector improvement practices.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative approaches to teacher development.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent recognised by SAQA.
- At least 5 years of experience at Middle/Senior Managerial level in the education sector.
- Extensive knowledge of institution and employee performance management.
- In-depth understanding of strategies for teacher support and development, including ICT integration.
- Strong capacity for research, impact assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
