What You’ll Do

• Coordinate, monitor, and support teacher development initiatives in line with departmental priorities.
• Conduct impact assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of teacher development programs.
• Develop frameworks and strategies aimed at improving school and educator performance.
• Drive the creation and curation of digital resources to support teaching and learning.
• Promote the use of ICT platforms for professional development among educators.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing teacher development initiatives to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
• Provide strategic leadership and manage financial resources in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act.
• Compile analytical reports to guide sector improvement practices.
• Facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative approaches to teacher development.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent recognised by SAQA.
• At least 5 years of experience at Middle/Senior Managerial level in the education sector.
• Extensive knowledge of institution and employee performance management.
• In-depth understanding of strategies for teacher support and development, including ICT integration.
• Strong capacity for research, impact assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
