The Department of Social Development is seeking passionate individuals for the role of Social Work Supervisor Grade 1, with three positions available in the Mopani District’s Lebaka One Stop Centre and Namakgale Local Office, as well as at the Thohoyandou One Stop Centre in Vhembe District. What You’ll Do

• Supervise and mentor social workers and social auxiliary workers to ensure effective service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) standards and protocols.
• Coordinate and manage various social welfare programs, focusing on the transformation of social services.
• Provide counselling and support to clients, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of non-profit organisations involved in social work initiatives.
• Conduct assessments and implement strategies to improve service delivery and outcomes for vulnerable populations.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor of Social Work, recognized by SAQA.
• Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• At least seven years of social work experience following registration with the SACSSP.
• A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
• Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of social work service delivery models and relevant programs, along with people management capabilities.
