About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Radiographer Grade 1 to 3 (Diagnostic) to join the dedicated team at Beaufort West Hospital, located in the heart of the Western Cape. What You’ll Do
- Provide a full range of diagnostic imaging services including routine, trauma, theatre, and mobile radiography.
- Conduct outreach radiography services across the district to support underserved areas.
- Maintain imaging equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Document and report radiographic procedures accurately.
- Assist the Chief Radiographer and Clinical Manager with administrative tasks.
- Participate in quality assurance and risk management efforts.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Relevant experience:
- Grade 1: None after registration for RSA-qualified employees; 1 year for foreign-qualified employees.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience for RSA-qualified employees; 11 years for foreign-qualified employees.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience for RSA-qualified employees; 21 years for foreign-qualified employees.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel to District Hospitals and Clinics.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
- High level of technical proficiency with advanced imaging technologies.
- Strong ethical standards, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability to work efficiently in a resource-constrained environment.
