About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking dedicated individuals to fill eight positions as Social Work Supervisor Grade 1 in various locations, including Mdantsane, Indwe, Hofmeyer, Cala, Ugie, Burgersdorp, Nyandeni, and Tsolo in the Eastern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Lead crime prevention programs for at-risk youth in and out of school.
- Assist Probation Officers in implementing diversion programs by gathering information for report writing.
- Provide home-based supervision for young individuals awaiting trial, ensuring they remain in the community.
- Oversee supervision services for youth placed under community service and probation orders.
- Conduct family tracing when necessary to facilitate reunification and support.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate and a Bachelor of Social Work degree.
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in social work post-registration.
- Proficient computer skills and a valid South African driver’s license.
- Strong leadership and project management skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Competencies in research, planning, organizing, and evaluation.
