What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and support social workers in delivering effective services to individuals and families.
  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of clients and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs to address identified social issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social work interventions, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Provide guidance on legislation and social work standards to team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of social work processes and outcomes.
  • Perform statutory functions related to social work, including compiling court reports.

What You’ll Need

  • A 4-year tertiary qualification in social work, enabling registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in social work after registration.
  • Strong knowledge of social work legislation, theories, and interventions.
  • Proficient in assessment and evaluation methods relevant to social work.
  • Excellent communication skills in at least two official languages of the Western Cape Government.
  • Competency in project planning, personnel management, and client-focused services.
