What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership in the planning, budgeting, and evaluation of social work programs.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with NGOs, government departments, and agencies within the Criminal Justice System.
  • Analyze policies and create programs that support children in conflict with the law.
  • Coordinate integrated services and programs for children and women affected by crime and violence.
  • Offer management support for Specialist Social Service programs in line with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Deliver advanced social work services focusing on the care and development of children.
  • Facilitate the development and planning of effective social work interventions.
  • Travel as required to ensure effective service delivery across the district.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate and a B Degree in Social Work.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in social work post-registration with SACSSP, including 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
  • A valid South African driver’s license.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children’s Act and the Child Justice Act.
  • Strong strategic planning and financial management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder relations and project management abilities.
  • Good communication, writing, and computer literacy skills.
  • A passion for working with children in conflict with the law and an understanding of Child and Youth Care Systems.
