What You’ll Do

  • Deliver advanced social work services tailored to the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
  • Manage and oversee developmental social welfare programs in line with established legislation and standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective interventions for vulnerable populations.
  • Ensure the efficient use of financial resources in program management.
  • Lead a team of social workers, providing guidance and support to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay updated on developments in social work and management practices to improve service effectiveness.
  • Conduct complex social work research and contribute to the development of new programs.
  • Handle administrative functions necessary for the smooth operation of the social work unit.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate and a B Degree in Social Work.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in social work, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  • A valid South African driver’s license.
  • Competencies in strategic capacity, leadership, project management, and financial management.
  • Expert knowledge in addressing structural poverty, inequality, and social exclusion.
  • Strong communication skills and advanced computer literacy.
