What You’ll Do

  • Assist social workers in providing social work services to vulnerable populations.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 10 certificate and completion of a learnership for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
  • Current registration with the SACSSP as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
  • A valid code B driving license.
  • Knowledge of human behaviour, social issues, and the South African social welfare context.
  • Understanding of the legislation governing social auxiliary work and the South African judicial system.
  • Basic financial knowledge related to social auxiliary work.
  • Good record-keeping and reporting skills, with an emphasis on protocol and professional ethics.
