What You’ll Do

  • Implement budget administration and allocations as per regulatory requirements.
  • Capture and monitor budget data using Basic Accounting Systems (BAS).
  • Ensure compliance with the PFMA and Treasury Regulations during budget processes.
  • Prepare and report on budget versus expenditure and cash flow.
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Produce in-year monitoring schedules for budget adjustments.
  • Verify allocations as compiled by the System Controller.
  • Manage human, physical, and financial resources effectively within the Unit.
  • Coach and guide team members on best practices in budgeting and financial compliance.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification in Financial Management, BCom Accounting, or Management Accounting at NQF level 6 (SAQA recognized).
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in budgeting, planning, or financial administration.
  • Solid understanding of the Public Service Regulations Act and the Public Finance Management Act.
  • Knowledge of the National Treasury Regulations and the Appropriation Act.
  • Familiarity with planning and budgeting processes and Financial Risk Management Practices.
  • Proficiency in Basic Accounting Systems (BAS) and Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA).
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and analytical skills, along with attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to integrity and accountability.
