What You’ll Do
- Provide support in compiling and submitting budget inputs for various projects.
- Prepare and distribute templates for budget inputs to executing units.
- Analyze and consolidate budget inputs for effective financial management.
- Draft budget submissions for approval of allocations and compile necessary authorization documents.
- Update the Work Control System (WCS) and monitor the availability of funds.
- Liaise with relevant departments and clients to request additional funding as necessary.
- Prepare monthly expenditure reports and assist in consolidating reports for all directorates.
- Support the administration of the sub-unit, including compiling schedules and invoices.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and contribute to the preparation of financial management documentation for audits.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Financial Management or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in financial management and budget administration.
- Strong knowledge of the Works Control System (WCS) and Basic Accounting System (BAS).
- Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with advanced interpersonal abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure, while being people-oriented and trustworthy.
