What You’ll Do
- Ensure compliance with the Restitution of Land Rights Act and related legal frameworks.
- Review and analyze research reports, including compliance and representation documents.
- Attend stakeholder engagements and negotiations with landowners and claimants.
- Prepare and review various legal documents, including memoranda, notices, and agreements.
- Facilitate the transfer of land and financial compensation processes.
- Coordinate litigation support and draft necessary court documents.
- Conduct research on special projects related to land reform and restitution policy development.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including legal representatives and government officials.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 Certificate and an appropriate LLB or B Proc Degree (NQF Level 7) or related qualification.
- Minimum of 6 years of extensive post-qualification legal experience, including 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in court litigation and document vetting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Restitution of Land Rights Act and South African land reform laws.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and readiness to work under pressure.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
