What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate the requisition of quotations and manage the advertisement of bids.
  • Issue requests for quotations and assist in closing bids and price quotations.
  • Maintain accurate records of bids and quotations in the receipt registers.
  • Compile appointment letters for bid evaluation and specification committee members.
  • Serve as the secretariat for bid evaluation and specification committees.
  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain Management prescripts and facilitate the departmental supplier database interface.
  • Request, receive, and evaluate quotations from suppliers.
  • Supervise subordinate staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standards.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 or an equivalent qualification in Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement Management recognised by SAQA.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s licence (unless you have a disability).
  • Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and government financial systems (e.g., BAS, LOGIS).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal relationship skills, and the ability to handle pressure.
  • Skills in report writing, policy analysis, conflict management, and analytical thinking.
  • A commitment to honesty, confidentiality, and exceptional customer care.
