About the Opportunity

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) invites unemployed South African youth to participate in a comprehensive internship programme designed to provide practical workplace exposure. This initiative supports students and graduates in their career development by offering experiential learning opportunities over a period not exceeding 24 months.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will:
– Assist in planning and coordinating youth empowerment programmes.
– Support arts education projects and workshops.
– Engage in community outreach programmes.
– Manage participant registration and attendance tracking.
– Assist with rehearsals, workshops, and performances.
– Contribute to programme administration and record keeping.
– Create social media content and manage campaigns.
– Support monitoring and evaluation activities.

Requirements/Qualifications

To be eligible, applicants must:
– Be South African citizens aged 18 to 35.
– Reside within Johannesburg communities.
– Have a Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
– Hold a Diploma in Performing Arts, Dramatic Arts, or an equivalent qualification.
– Be computer literate in MS Office Applications and email.
– Not have participated in a previous internship programme related to their qualification.

Benefits

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R6 094.25.
