What You’ll Do

  • Visit correctional facilities daily to engage with inmates and staff.
  • Monitor conditions of incarceration and report findings.
  • Document and report all instances of deaths, segregation, use of restraints, and use of force.
  • Support Judicial Inspectorate officials during inspections and investigations.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including capturing inmate complaints and writing detailed reports.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12/Senior certificate.
  • Computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • A recent recommendation/nomination as an Independent Correctional Centre Visitor from a community organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of Batho Pele principles and public service ethics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
  • Preference for applicants residing near the correctional centre where the vacancy exists.
