What You’ll Do
- Facilitate the requisition of quotations for procurement needs.
- Receive and review approved specifications/Terms of References for bids.
- Issue requests for quotations and manage the closing of bids.
- Record bids and quotations in the receipt registers and compile checklists.
- Lead the bid specification and evaluation processes, serving as the secretariat for committees.
- Ensure compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) prescripts.
- Maintain the departmental supplier database or Central Supplier Database (CSD) interface.
- Request, evaluate, and adjudicate quotations from suppliers.
- Supervise and mentor subordinates in their roles.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 or equivalent in Financial Management/SCM/Procurement Management.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement or administrative roles.
- A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (unless exempt due to disability).
- Strong knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Acts, and policies.
- Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in government financial systems (e.g., BAS, LOGIS).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
