The Department of Finance is seeking an experienced Director: Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting to join its Head Office team in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Manage the financial planning and budgeting processes for the department.
- Develop and implement the departmental Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget.
- Provide strategic direction on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
- Align financial plans with departmental strategic objectives and Annual Performance Plans (APP).
- Advise management on financial sustainability and fiscal risks.
- Control budget implementation, expenditure monitoring, and resource allocation.
- Compile annual and adjustment budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Oversee cash flow projections and revenue estimates.
- Coordinate budget hearings and engagements with Provincial Treasury and oversight bodies.
- Manage financial reporting and compliance services, ensuring timely submissions of reports.
- Develop frameworks for NGO financial support services and oversee compliance with funding agreements.
- Monitor revenue management and implement strategies for improvement.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification at NQF level 7 or equivalent in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Commerce, Cost & Management Accounting, or Internal Auditing.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience at Middle/Senior Managerial level.
- Successful completion of the SMS pre-entry programme prior to appointment.
- A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (exceptions apply for persons with disabilities).
- Strong capabilities in strategic leadership, financial management, and risk assessment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and public service financial systems.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
