What You’ll Do

• Conduct audits and inspections of underground, shaft, and surface mining operations.
• Report on matters related to ground stability, support, and blasting operations.
• Investigate mine-related accidents, contraventions, and complaints.
• Analyze mine accident statistics and trends to identify high-risk operations.
• Provide input on mine closure, permits, and township development.
• Serve on necessary boards of examiners and coordinate relevant activities.
• Engage in managerial tasks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma in Mining Engineering (NQF6).
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience at a junior managerial level in mining.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
• Strong skills in hazard identification and risk management.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions under pressure.
