What You’ll Do
- Supervise security functions performed by security officers and service providers, ensuring adherence to department security policies.
- Allocate and monitor duties assigned to security personnel, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Oversee access control to prevent unauthorized entry to buildings and other premises.
- Authorize the movement of equipment, documents, and supplies in and out of facilities.
- Provide support during emergencies and ensure preparedness protocols are in place.
- Administer key control systems and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and assess risks and threats to departmental security.
- Collaborate with investigating officers by providing detailed incident reports.
- Monitor and report any faulty equipment or security systems.
- Manage control room operations to safeguard departmental assets.
- Review security footage upon request following proper procedures.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 6 qualification as recognized by SAQA.
- Qualifications in Financial, Risk, or Security Management will be advantageous.
- A Grade-B PSIRA certificate is an added benefit.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Security & Facilities Management or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).
- Sound knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act, Minimum Information Security Standard, and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS).
- Proficiency in computer literacy and a willingness to undergo security vetting.
