What You’ll Do

  • Greet and verify visitors, ensuring they have proper appointments or referring them to the appropriate service delivery point.
  • Operate security equipment, including walk-through metal detectors, to maintain effective access control.
  • Monitor CCTV footage and conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify any potential security breaches.
  • Maintain an admission control register, ensuring accurate documentation of visitor access.
  • Inspect vehicles entering and leaving the premises, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Report and document any incidents, breaches, or non-compliance to your supervisor.
  • Implement emergency procedures when necessary, coordinating with emergency services as required.
  • Ensure the security systems are functioning correctly and address any issues promptly.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
  • Relevant experience in a security role is required.
  • A Basic Security Officer’s course registered with PSIRA.
  • A valid driver’s license is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Access to Public Premises and Vehicle Act and other security-related legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
