What You’ll Do
- Supervise and manage personnel and resources within the Death Administration Office.
- Oversee the operational flow for deceased patients, ensuring timely removal from wards.
- Facilitate communication and handover of deceased individuals to undertakers and relevant stakeholders.
- Process and verify all necessary death-related documentation.
- Liaise with families regarding storage, transfers, burial, and cremation arrangements.
- Manage unclaimed bodies and destitute processing in line with the National Health Act.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments to contracted service providers.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and reports related to death administration.
- Enforce compliance with policies, procedures, and protocols within the office.
- Compile operational reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant administrative and supervisory experience, particularly in a hospital environment.
- Knowledge of death administration processes and relevant legislation.
- Strong organisational, planning, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and database management.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
