What You’ll Do

  • Develop skills in radiotherapy planning and treatment for cancer patients.
  • Provide appropriate oncology care under the guidance of a Consultant Radiation Oncologist.
  • Attend to patients in both clinic and ward environments.
  • Manage administrative tasks to ensure well-organised clinics and wards.
  • Enhance personal knowledge through participation in training sessions and self-directed learning.
  • Get involved in academic activities and support teaching responsibilities within the division.
  • Mentor and assist junior colleagues in their professional development.
  • Participate in research and audits related to Radiation Oncology.
  • Engage in performance assessments and appraisals.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
  • Required clinical experience post-MBChB degree, with a focus on Oncology or Palliative Care.
  • Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and a proactive approach to learning.
