What You’ll Do

  • Provide emergency medical services to patients in designated areas.
  • Participate in clinical and corporate governance duties related to the services offered.
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of Health Sciences students.
  • Engage in academic activities required for achieving the MMed (Emergency Medicine) qualification.
  • Supervise and provide in-service training to junior colleagues and other staff members.
  • Conduct academic teaching, training, and research to enhance healthcare outcomes.
  • Ensure effective and efficient care of emergency patients.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
  • Completion of FCEM [SA] part 1.
  • A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
  • Appropriate clinical experience in Emergency Medicine post-registration.
  • Strong skills in academic development and evidence of administrative and medicolegal functions.
  • Professional conduct and effective communication with all stakeholders.
