What You’ll Do

  • Provide first-line community support through psycho-education and psychological interventions
  • Conduct psychological screenings and basic assessments for individuals and groups
  • Design and implement developmental programs tailored for different community needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to provide comprehensive counselling
  • Prepare reports and offer feedback to clients regarding their interventions
  • Promote primary psychosocial wellbeing through training and community outreach
  • Refer individuals to appropriate professionals or resources when necessary

What You’ll Need

  • An Honours Degree in Psychology or a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor
  • For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration with HPCSA
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 8 years of appropriate experience post-registration
  • For Grade 3: Minimum of 16 years of appropriate experience post-registration
  • A valid driver’s license
