About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Counsellor to join its team in the Alfred Nzo District. What You’ll Do
- Provide psycho-education and community-based support to enhance psychosocial well-being.
- Conduct psychological screenings and assessments for individuals and groups.
- Implement and monitor developmental programs tailored for different systems levels.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to provide effective counselling.
- Prepare detailed reports and feedback for clients on interventions.
- Promote primary psychosocial well-being through training and community engagement.
- Refer clients to appropriate professionals and resources as needed.
What You’ll Need
- An Honours Degree in Psychology or a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor.
- No experience required for Grade 1; minimum of 8 years for Grade 2; minimum of 16 years for Grade 3 after registration.
- A valid driver’s license.
