What You’ll Do
- Manage and train a team of prosecutors, providing guidance and support.
- Study case dockets to determine the appropriate legal actions to take.
- Conduct criminal proceedings in Regional and District Courts, including maintenance matters and inquests.
- Prepare cases for court, drafting charge sheets and other relevant documents.
- Present cases in court, leading witnesses and addressing the court on matters of conviction and sentencing.
- Assist the Senior Public Prosecutor in evaluating staff performance.
- Perform general administrative duties to ensure smooth office operations.
- Promote community involvement and integration with partners in the criminal justice system.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least six years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Proven ability to act independently and with professionalism.
- Strong management skills and the ability to train and guide others.
- Proficiency in prosecuting complex common law and statutory offences.
- Experience in drafting complex charge sheets and court documents.
