About the Role
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is seeking an experienced Regional Court Control Prosecutor to join its dynamic team based in KwaDukuza, also known as Ntuzuma. This pivotal role not only supports the legal framework of our communities but also plays an essential part in ensuring justice is served effectively. What You’ll Do
- Manage and provide guidance to a team of prosecutors, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Evaluate case dockets to decide on the institution of criminal proceedings and represent the State in court.
- Prepare and draft complex charge sheets and court documents, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct prosecutions on behalf of the State, including leading witnesses and cross-examining during trials.
- Assist the Senior Public Prosecutor with staff performance assessments and general administrative duties.
- Promote collaboration with partners in the criminal justice system and engage with the community to enhance customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB or appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least six (6) years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Strong management skills with the ability to guide and train others effectively.
- Proven competency in prosecuting complex criminal cases in regional and district courts.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
