What You’ll Do

  • Perform vascular ultrasonography procedures to support accurate diagnostic processes.
  • Ensure quality image analysis contributing to the effective identification of abnormalities.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to all patients receiving imaging services.
  • Collaborate with health service teams to enhance overall patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Conduct clinical audits and participate in departmental meetings and presentations.
  • Maintain high clinical, professional, and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Operate imaging equipment, reviewing images to assure quality and clarity.
  • Offer training and support to peers and new staff as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Ultrasound Radiography.
  • Registration with HPCSA as a Radiographer in Ultrasound is mandatory.
  • Experience requirements vary:
  • Grade 1: None required for RSA-qualified employees; one year for foreign-qualified employees.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years for RSA-qualified employees; 11 years for foreign-qualified employees.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years for RSA-qualified employees; 21 years for foreign-qualified employees.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and disease pathologies relevant to ultrasound findings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
  • Competency in using basic computer programs and reporting systems related to ultrasound.
