About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor (Production) Grade A for Maintenance at its Provincial Office in Mbombela, also known as Nelspruit. What You’ll Do
- Develop, interpret, and customize quantity surveying planning and cost norms and standards for various infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the creation of project briefing documents, costing models, and operational narratives.
- Prepare quantity surveyor inputs for the User Asset Management Plan and final project lists.
- Assist in budget preparation and the development of the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan.
- Conduct research and literature studies to stay updated on new technologies and feasibility options in geographical information management.
- Engage with relevant professional boards and councils to ensure compliance and best practices.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 and an NQF Level 7 qualification in Quantity Surveying, recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification experience.
- Current registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) as a Quantity Surveyor (valid until 2026).
- A valid driver’s license and proficiency in computer applications.
- Knowledge of the Health Act and Regulations, Quantity Surveying Profession Act, Construction Industry Development Board Act, National Building Standards Act, and other relevant regulations.
