What You’ll Do
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients to promote optimal health care.
- Create and keep accurate nursing records for individual health care users.
- Engage in health promotion and illness prevention initiatives and assess their outcomes.
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans for nursing and health care services.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and relevant health legislation.
- Protect and advocate for patients’ rights regarding their health care.
- Diagnose and manage conditions related to eye health.
- Maintain effective infection control and occupational safety measures in accordance with regulations.
- Actively participate in professional development and uphold ethical nursing practices.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- At least 10 years of experience with a post Basic qualification in Ophthalmic Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse Specialty.
- A Degree/Diploma in General Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes, health legislation, and ethical standards.
