What You’ll Do

  • Assist in planning and organizing the objectives of the specialized unit.
  • Provide comprehensive, quality nursing care to patients.
  • Offer supervision and guidance to nursing and housekeeping staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with duty rosters, allocation, and record-keeping.
  • Participate in the evaluation of staff performance and training.
  • Promote specialized nursing care in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Conduct intermittent haemodialysis for patients and coordinate renal services.
  • Maintain professional growth and ethical standards in nursing practice.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in nursing after registration with SANC.
  • A Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A Degree/Diploma in General Nursing allowing for registration with SANC.
  • A relevant one-year Post Basic qualification in Nephrology Nursing Science.
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of nursing care processes, legal frameworks, and effective problem-solving skills.
