What You’ll Do

• Provide functional and general nursing services in the school environment.
• Conduct health assessments for learners with special needs to identify health issues.
• Administer medication and monitor students with chronic illnesses.
• Promote good hygiene practices and preventive care among learners.
• Conduct regular health screenings to detect and address health problems early.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders to enhance health services.
• Maintain accurate learner health records and write referrals to health practitioners as necessary.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary support structures, including the School Based Support Team (SBST).
• Implement health and wellness programs tailored for the school community.

What You’ll Need

• An NQF level 6 or 7 qualification in Nursing as recognized by SAQA.
• Valid and active registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A certificate of registration as a Professional Nurse.
• Relevant nursing experience in a healthcare or educational setting.
• A valid driver’s license, with exceptions for individuals living with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good record-keeping and report-writing abilities.
• The ability to work effectively with learners with disabilities.
