What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized nursing care in the Child Health Care Unit, adhering to established standards.
  • Ensure effective management of resources to promote quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and supervise patient care standards.
  • Implement and practice nursing care in compliance with statutory laws and policies.
  • Foster constructive working relationships with nurses and other healthcare staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control standards.
  • Plan and organize your work and that of support personnel to facilitate optimal nursing care.
  • Engage in staff development and performance management initiatives.
  • Report any patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse individuals, respecting various cultural and intellectual perspectives.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic qualification accredited with the SANC (e.g., Diploma/Degree in General Nursing) allowing registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwifery.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science, accredited with the SANC.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of appropriate nursing experience after registration with the SANC.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good supervisory and teaching abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
