What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Theatre, adhering to health care standards and protocols.
- Manage resources effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the theatre.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
- Supervise nursing staff and implement patient care standards.
- Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
- Maintain and check the functionality of medical equipment.
- Plan and organize both your work and that of support personnel.
- Engage in staff development and performance management.
- Report on patient safety issues and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Foster constructive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Basic qualification accredited with the SANC, such as a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science, accredited by the SANC.
- Minimum of four years of experience registered as a Professional Nurse with the SANC.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good supervisory and teaching abilities.
