What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized nursing care in the operating theatre.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and care planning.
- Participate in health education and promotion initiatives.
- Support clinical practice development and educational activities.
- Ensure adherence to sterility and illness prevention protocols.
- Optimize the use of human and financial resources within the unit.
- Assist and provide support to supervisors and the nursing division.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre Nursing or a relevant 4-year bachelor’s degree.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant nursing experience for Grade 1 and 14 years for Grade 2, including experience after obtaining the required post-basic qualification.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays as necessary.
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
