The Western Cape Department of Health is looking for a dedicated Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Maternity) to join its compassionate team at the Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre. What You’ll Do
- Provide holistic and comprehensive nursing treatment and care to patients, particularly in maternity.
- Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care.
- Deliver clinical nursing practice in accordance with established standards and regulations.
- Uphold policies and procedures set by the relevant health governing bodies.
- Assist in managing human resources and financial aspects of nursing services.
- Promote quality nursing care and support continuous professional development.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or a relevant postgraduate diploma.
- For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience post-registration.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of nursing experience post-registration, including at least 10 years in a relevant specialty.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Willingness to work shifts, including night duty and public holidays.
