What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate Human Resources interventions related to international health programmes.
  • Provide technical input for the SADC HRH Strategy and NAPHS.
  • Prepare briefings on strategic issues to inform international health discussions.
  • Develop and formulate project proposals for capacity building in the health sector.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the HRH strategy at all health system levels.
  • Engage with provinces to support the National HRH Strategy.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations with stakeholders.
  • Strengthen health workforce planning capabilities across all levels of the health system.
  • Oversee the disaster/emergency HRH readiness plan and business continuity measures.
  • Manage resources and prepare reports as required.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and NQF 7 qualification in Health or Social Sciences.
  • A postgraduate NQF 8 qualification in the relevant fields is advantageous.
  • At least three years of experience in a strategy and planning environment at the Assistant Director level or equivalent.
  • Experience working with international organizations in health programme implementation.
  • Knowledge of Public Service Legislation, including the Health Act.
  • Understanding of the South African Health System and government planning practices.
  • Strong skills in research management, project writing, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.
