What You’ll Do
- Develop national guidelines and frameworks for health lifestyle programs.
- Provide technical guidance for the development and review of health policies and standards.
- Facilitate alignment with WHO recommendations and national health priorities.
- Manage stakeholder consultation processes for validating technical documents.
- Support provinces in implementing healthy lifestyle interventions and programs.
- Conduct support visits to monitor and evaluate program implementation.
- Coordinate reporting and monitoring of national healthy lifestyle initiatives.
- Identify implementation challenges and facilitate continuous program improvement.
- Compile performance reports to inform planning and decision-making.
- Represent the department in relevant technical forums and committees.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 certificate and an NQF 7 undergraduate qualification in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Promotion, or Nursing.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a health promotion or public health role.
- Knowledge of relevant health acts, regulations, and policies.
- Understanding of health promotion principles and social determinants of health.
- Familiarity with South Africa’s health system and public health delivery models.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
