What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized nursing care in the operating theatre, ensuring safety and comfort for pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement holistic care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and contribute to effective health education for families.
  • Participate in clinical practice development and support research initiatives to enhance nursing care.
  • Efficiently manage resources, both human and financial, to optimize patient care delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to the Supervisor and Nursing division as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre Nursing or equivalent.
  • Grade 1: At least 4 years of recognized nursing experience post-registration; Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing legislation, ethical practices, and quality nursing care standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
