About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking dedicated professionals for the role of Professional Nurse Grade 1-2: Advanced Midwifery at Rob Ferreira Hospital in the Ehlanzeni District and Witbank Hospital in the Nkangala District. What You’ll Do
- Provide holistic nursing care in the Advanced Midwifery Unit, adhering to set standards.
- Ensure the effective management of nursing resources and patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement programs to enhance patient care.
- Supervise nursing practices and implement patient care standards.
- Maintain compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
- Plan and organize nursing activities, ensuring optimal patient management.
- Engage in staff development and performance management initiatives.
- Report on patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to create a supportive work environment.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Basic qualification accredited with the SANC (Diploma/Degree in General Nursing).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery Nursing Science.
- For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of experience in nursing after registration with the SANC.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of experience in nursing, including 10 years in Advanced Midwifery.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with problem-solving abilities.
- Good supervisory and teaching skills, with the ability to function independently.
