What You’ll Do

  • Manage patient care effectively, ensuring adherence to health standards and protocols
  • Promote and advocate for patients’ needs and rights
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with legal requirements
  • Supervise and develop nursing staff to enhance their skills and performance
  • Participate in the implementation of national health priorities and clinical guidelines
  • Foster good working relationships among staff and patients
  • Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment for all

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 1 position requires no prior experience; Grade 2 requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; Grade 3 requires 20 years of experience in nursing
  • A Degree or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with a relevant post-basic qualification in Operating Theatre nursing
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and a valid receipt for 2026
  • In-depth knowledge of public service regulations, nursing care processes, and legal frameworks
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in disciplines such as general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and obstetrics & gynecology is advantageous
