What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement new engineering systems to solve practical problems and enhance safety.
  • Plan, operate, and maintain various engineering projects in accordance with established norms and standards.
  • Develop cost-effective engineering solutions and evaluate existing manuals and procedures.
  • Create and assess tender specifications and ensure engineering works meet prescribed standards.
  • Manage human capital development, facilitating training for Technicians and Candidate Engineers.
  • Supervise engineering processes and conduct performance management for subordinates.
  • Administer office tasks, including budget planning and resource utilization.
  • Monitor project expenditures and report on service delivery and financial management.
  • Conduct research to stay abreast of new technologies and improve engineering practices.
  • Liaise with relevant bodies on engineering matters, providing expert advice when needed.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and an Engineering Degree (B Eng / BSC Eng) or a relevant qualification.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification engineering experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge in project management, engineering design, and compliance with legal standards.
  • Excellent decision-making, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in computer literacy and technical report writing.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to manage conflict and foster teamwork.
