What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical services to the directorate and assist in evaluating business plans and technical reports.
  • Monitor the implementation of infrastructure projects through site inspections and meetings.
  • Compile and submit progress reports on various projects.
  • Promote safety in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate technical designs and submit them for approval by relevant authorities.
  • Perform administrative functions, including budgeting inputs and expenditure reports.
  • Verify and certify invoices for payment of contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits.
  • Develop and manage databases to support infrastructure projects.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with new technologies and procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
  • Three years of post-qualification technical engineering experience.
  • Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an Engineering Technician.
  • A valid, unexpired driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management and technical design.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, alongside teamwork and creativity.
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities.
