About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a Professional Construction Project Manager (Grade A-C) based in Mmabatho, North West. What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and execute project work plans, adjusting as necessary to meet changing needs.
- Identify required resources and assign responsibilities to team members.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of projects ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
- Provide financial management services, including budgeting and reporting on project progress.
- Liaise with clients, service providers, and management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain project documentation and manage the architectural library.
- Conduct research on new project management methodologies and technologies.
- Contribute to team performance and human resource-related activities.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Higher Diploma in a Built Environment field, with at least 4 years and 6 months of certified experience.
- Alternatively, a BTech in a Built Environment field with a minimum of 4 years of managerial experience or an Honors Degree with 3 years of experience.
- Registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Professional Construction Project Manager upon appointment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, engineering design, and legal compliance.
- Excellent decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial management and computer applications related to project management.
