What You’ll Do
- Transport patients on trolleys, beds, and wheelchairs to various departments and outside the hospital.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of work areas by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Respond promptly to requests for the delivery and collection of medical documentation, specimens, and blood products.
- Check and replace gas cylinders in wards and assist with the movement of medical equipment.
- Report any defects or issues with transport equipment to your supervisor.
- Safely transport deceased patients to the mortuary and perform related duties as necessary.
- Act as a relief supervisor when required, ensuring smooth operations within the support services.
What You’ll Need
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Relevant experience in a health environment is preferred.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical fitness to lift and transport patients and heavy equipment.
- Preparedness to handle deceased bodies with respect and care.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safe infection prevention methods.
- Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
