What You’ll Do

  • Manage and treat patients in the Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery clinic.
  • Perform various oral surgery procedures with utmost care and precision.
  • Assess students’ preparedness in both theory and clinical practices.
  • Ensure optimal and safe patient care through thorough examination and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate records and handle administrative duties related to both patient care and undergraduate training.
  • Participate in the training and development of undergraduate dental students in a clinical setting.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dentist.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Dentist.
  • For Grade 1: No experience required for SA-qualified candidates; 1 year relevant experience for foreign-qualified candidates post-registration.
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 7 years’ experience for SA-qualified candidates; 8 years for foreign-qualified candidates post-registration.
  • For Grade 3: Minimum of 12 years’ experience for SA-qualified candidates; 13 years for foreign-qualified candidates post-registration.
  • Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license for service across the Oral Health platform.
  • Experience and competence in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, with postgraduate qualifications preferred.
  • Teaching experience in a clinical environment at an academic institution.
